Once again, ppg pilots from across the country and overseas, will flock to the heights of Bob "Bubba" Peter's ranch in Colorado, West of Pikes Peak, for fun and games at the annual Lost Stirrup Lodge High Altitude Fly-In. Though a challenge for pilots from lower altitudes, no attending pilot has failed to earn this fly-in's coveted "High Altitude Pilot" patch. Earn yours this year simply by launching. Once in the air, flying is pretty much the same but with a slower climb rate. The fly-in is free. No entry fees or charges for camping. Even so, Bubba's company, Kitchen Cabinet Depot, is furnishing plenty of prizes and giveaways. You will need to bring your own RV or tent and food. Nestled in the high plains on the Ute trail of Colorado's back country, the closest store is in Canon City, nearly an hour away. Nights are in the 40's and 50's. Days are in the 70-80's. The scenery is spectacular. Exploring is encouraged. The Lost Stirrup Fly-In has been featured internationally in numerous videos including "Into The Wind" and has appeared on the front page of Aero Sports Connections Magazine.
